Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid used to reduce inflammation. Pramoxine is a topical anesthetic used for temporary relief of itching and discomfort.
This therapy is intended for clinician-directed short-term use when both inflammation control and symptom relief are part of the care plan. It may be a better fit than a numbing-only product when itching is paired with visibly irritated or inflamed tissue.
Response can vary depending on symptoms and duration of use. Mild local irritation may occur.
Some patients notice itch relief sooner than improvement in irritation or inflammation. Because this product contains both a steroid and an anesthetic, the timing of symptom relief and tissue calming may not be exactly the same.
Apply 2 to 4 pumps to the external anal area every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain or itching.
Do not insert into the rectum.
